Frédérique Champagne was born in Orléans (Ontario) twenty one years ago, and has published two short stories, L'appel du large and La vengeance du Russe, as well as three poetic sequences, Le chant du cygne, Dernier souffle and La chute de Montréal, in the student paper La Rotonde. As a Franco-Ontarian poet, Frédérique seeks out his muse along the dusty paths of History and the epic battles fought under the fleur-de-lys adorned flags of French Canada. Having managed to resist the vortex of assimilation until now, he writes in his native French. The French Department of the University of Ottawa will soon publish a fourth sequence of his poems (March 2017) in its journal of creative writing.
