Born in Montreal, Émilie Turmel has been living in Quebec City for about twenty years, where she is in charge of projects at the Maison de la littérature. She has participated in dozens of literary performances and published a first collection, Casse-Gugs, published by Poets de Brousse editions in 2018. Her book embraces the legacy of strong female voices through an appropriation of pain and an exploration of the internalized violence of women's bodies to their center, their voice. It is also a tribute to the resilience of women and a rallying cry addressed to all those who from yesterday to today, have taken the pen to express themselves.
