ísta Fanney Sigur∂ardóttir is known for her poetic bridge between mediums and has performed in various festivals and exhibitions around the world. After her first book of poetry she won the Icelandic poetry award Ljó∂stafur Jóns úr Vör but early decided to focus on the live representation of the poem, often woven together with visual art and music. Her work has been described as "otherworldly". The many mediums she uses are drawings, film, sound art, installations and performances with a focus on word-related phenomenon, language and taboos. Among the festivals she has performed in are Stanza Scotland Poetry Festival, Stockholm International Poetry Festival, London European Poetry Festival, Offline Istanbul Poetry Festival, Athens Beyond Human Impulses Festival, Venice Biennale, Audiatur Poetry Festival in Bergen, Hamar Poetry festival, Felix Poetry Festival in Belgium, Novotvar Poetry Festival in Slovakia, Airwaves Music Festival, Sonar Music Festival, Roskilde Music Festival, Anholt Literature Festival in Denmark, Phonica Poetry Festival in Dublin, Raflost Icelandic Festival of Electronic Art.
