Pierrette Requier is a daughter of the wind and of the vast prairies of Western Canada, but also an urban woman. For the past twenty years she has been actively involved in the Edmonton literary community and as that city's Poet Laureate from 2015 to 2017, she acted as ambassador for the literary arts at various events, a role undertaken also as liaison between RAFA(Regroupement artistique francophone de l'Alberta) and the Edmonton Poetry Festival Society. Through this involvement in organizing and producing bilingual and, occasionally, multilingual multimedia collaborative literary and arts projects, she discovered that living language is what really thrills her most.
