Susan J. Atkinson's poems have won a number of awards, including first prize in the National Capital Writers Contest, The Carleton University Literary Prize and Honourable Mention in The Diana Brebner Award. She was shortlisted for both the 2020 Nick Blatchford Occasional Verse Competition and The Gwendolyn MacEwen Award. Her poems have appeared in such journals as The Antigonish Review, Arc Magazine, The Dalhousie Review, Bywords, The New Quarterly and Room. She has work forthcoming in Grain Magazine. As well, her first full-length collection, The Marta Poems was just released by Silver Bow Publishing and her chapbook The Birthday Party, The Mariachi Player and The Tourist is forthcoming with Bondi Studios.
