David McGimpsey lives in Montreal and is the author of six collections of poetry including Asbestos Heights (Coach House Books), winner of 2015's A.M. Klein Award for Poetry. His previous volume, Li'l Bastard, was named as one of the "books of the year" by both The Quill and Quire and The National Post and was nominated for the Governor General's Award. David McGimpsey is also the author of the short fiction collection Certifiable and the award-winning critical study Imagining Baseball: America's Pastime and Popular Culture. Named by the CBC as one of the "œTop Ten English language poets in Canada" his work was also the subject of the book of essays Population Me: Essays on David McGimpsey. David is the Montreal fiction editor to Joyland magazine and is a food and travel writer who regularly contributes to EnRoute magazine. A PhD in American Literature, David McGimpsey teaches in the English Department of Concordia University.
