Wes Ryan is a genre-mashing performance artist living in Peterborough, Ontario. Twice Peterborough Poetry Slam's Slam Champion and CIPS rep, he has been to three CFSW's with teams from Peterborough and York, and is the Co-artistic Director of the Peterborough Poetry Slam Collective. Wes facilitates poetry and performance workshops for youth and acts as a slambassador, bringing spoken word to rural settings. He has choreographed over 20 productions and his own work focuses on issues of mental health, gender, (dis)ability, and poverty. Featured performer at International Day to Eradicate Poverty, Suicide Prevention Day, Take Back the Night, and Puzzled: Men's Mental Health, Wes was also the winner of Toronto's Truth or Dare Slam. He believes that through sharing our narratives we are able to stitch together threads of resilience into a tapestry for change.
