Katharina Schultens (born 1980 in Kirchen, Germany) has so far published four collections of poetry and two essays. She debuted in 2004 with the collection Aufbrí¼che, written during two years abroad in St. Louis, USA and Bologna, Italy. For poems, later published in her second collection, gierstabil (2011), she won the 2007 Georg K. Glaser promotion prize, with the jury praising her for developing "œimpressively worked poems where ideas meet reined-in impressionistic power in great lightness and certainty of form", and the 2009 promotion prize for the Art Prize of the State of Rhineland Palatinate. In 2014, her third collection gorgos portfolio was published, followed by untoter schwan in 2017. Other awards include the 2013 Leonce-and-Lena prize, the Swiss Spycher: Leuk prize 2015 and the Poetry Prize Basel 2019. She has been working at Humboldt-Universití¤t zu Berlin since 2006 and is currently writing her first SF novel.
