Artemysia has been performing in Ottawa's Spoken Word Community for over two years. In that time she earned a spot on Capital Slam's 2014 team that was one of two teams representing Ottawa at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in Victoria, BC in October of 2014. The team earned fifth place, which is the furthest Cap Slam has gone since winning consecutively in 2009 and 2010. Her team had the highest number of females representing Cap Slam in the decade it has been operating. She enjoys collaborating with artists as much as she enjoys getting paid and making sure the artists get paid too. Currently she is the host, photographer and blogger of Words To Live By, a monthly show operating outside of the Capital Poetry Collective that you can find at Pressed Café (750 Gladstone) the last Tuesday of every month.
