Monty Reid is a Canadian poet living in Ottawa. His most recent collection, his twelfth, is Meditatio Placentae (Brick, 2016) was shortlisted for the ReLit Award for Poetry. Recent chapbooks include Site Conditions (Apt 9), Contributors' Notes (Gaspereau). He plays guitar and mandolin with the band Call Me Katie. He has won Alberta’s Stephan G. Stephansson Award for Poetry on three occasions, as well as the Lampman Award, National Magazine Awards. He is a three-time nominee for the Governor General’s Award. He is currently the Festival Director at VERSeFest, Ottawa’s international poetry festival.
