Sultana Shazi Shirin

Sultana Shirin did a masters in English Literature from Dhaka University, Bangladesh. She kept her writing alive and wrote in different Bengali community journals. In 2007, she started writing in a Bengali blog community and became very popular in the Global Bengali diaspora. In Montreal, Shazi worked as interpreter for refugees. In her spare time, Shazi volunteers at a retirement home and helps organize Bengali community events, poetry recitals, and festivals. She was the Convenor of FOBANA, a big cultural program, which was held  on September 2018 at Courtyard Marriott hotel in Ottawa. Shirin Shazi has been a volunteer for VERSeFest for the past four years
